Emma received her MPharm from the University of Portsmouth in 2010, beginning her pharmacy career at Portsmouth’s Queen Alexandra Hospital and then St Marys Hospital on the Isle of Wight, where she worked as a senior surgical pharmacist. Whilst there their team set up electronic prescribing and paperless dispensing and pharmacist led pre-assessment clinics for orthopaedic enhanced recovery patients. Emma moved to Hampshire Hospitals Trust as lead for Theatres and Critical Care in 2015 and since then has implemented the roll out of the DERS from one to three hospitals; she is also about to embark on paperless dispensing in pharmacy and fully electronic noting within Critical Care. Emma is passionate about using technology to improve and enhance patient safety whilst streamlining processes for NHS staff.
